Tells the story of Dimitrov who was leader of Bulgaria from 1946 to 1949 when he died unexpectedly after challenging Stalin and the Soviets' occupation of the country - according to Wikipedia. Dimitrov was one of the people charged with burning down the Reichstag. He was one of the Communists who were accused of arson and Wiki says: "During the Leipzig trial, Dimitrov's calm conduct of his defence and the accusations he directed at his prosecutors won him world renown. On August 24, 1942, for instance, the American newspaper 'The Milwauki Journal' declared that in the Leipzig Trial, Dimitrov displayed "the most magnificent exhibition of moral courage even shown anywhere." In Europe, a popular saying spread across the Continent: “There is only one brave man in Germany, and he is a Bulgarian.” This copy has a dust jacket with edge wear and chips - see photos. The book itself is very good being tightly bound, unfoxed and unmarked. There is additionally an errata slip that highlights four printing errors within. + The accompanying booklet was issued by the Union of Bulgarian Jurists and titled ' INQUIRY into The Legality of the Communist Rule in Bulgaria' and was published in New York in 1955. There are no other copies online for sale. This copy has wear of the right edge of the front cover - see photos. The staples inside have worn out and so the cover is separated and the inner pages will eventually become loose too. These 68 pages have no foxing and no markings. The text details the invasion of Bulgaria by the Soviet Union just before the end of the Second World War and the loss of human rights thereafter. An interesting/important record that documents the legal objections to the Soviet occupation at the time.
