Description: This is a rare August 30th, 1926 broadside (single page playbill) from the Post-Broadway engagement of the GEORGE and IRA GERSHWIN, GUY BOLTON and FRED THOMPSON musical comedy "TIP-TOES" at Erlanger's Mason Theatre in Los Angeles, California. (The production opened December 28th, 1925 at the Liberty Theatre in New York City and ran for 192 performances before going on the road.) ..... The musical, "shown for the first time outside New York City", starred EDDIE BUZZELL, EDDIE NELSON, ONA MUNSON and CHARLES HOWARD and featured BERNICE ELLIOTT, HAL VAN RENSSALAER, VIRGINIA CRAWFORD, LESTER COLE, MIRIAM BYRON, RAMONA NIELSON, WINONA NIELSON, HARRY HOWARD and SAM FISCHER ..... DETAILS: The single page, two-sided playbill measures 5 1/2" X 11 7/8" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes and list of musical numbers, but no cast photos or bios. Includes two ticket stubs from the September 3rd, 1926 performance glued to the top of the program ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) The top half of the program is attached to a scrapbook page, so only the bottom section of the backside can be read and the ticket stubs are glued to the program. Otherwise, with the exception of a small tear on the right side of one of three horizontal folds, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
