Description: This is a rare programme (playbill) from the Original West End production of the GEORGE GERSHWIN, IRA GERSHWIN and DU BOSE HEYWARD American Folk Opera "PORGY AND BESS" at the Stoll Theatre in London. (This ambitious revival was produced for the first European tour of the musical which opened October 9th, 1952 at London's Stoll Theatre where it ran for 142 performances. After five months of performances throughout Europe, the production settled into New York's Ziegfeld Theatre on March 10th, 1953 for 305 performances before returning to the road.) .....
