This stapler is a must-have for those who appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of vintage collectibles. El Casco HistoryOlave, Solozabal y Cia. S. A. was founded September the 7th of 1920 in the town of Eibar (Basque Country of northern Spain). At the beginning, the main manufacture was firearms sold under the brands El Casco. After the 1929 world depression the company started to suffer great difficulty in exporting their products and reoriented its production to the manufacturing of fine desk accessories, which were originally sold only in the Spanish market under the registered trade mark 'El Casco'. The fact that the machinery and the procedures were oriented to the manufacturing of firearms that required high precision was in the origin of the new concept of our desk accessories, since they have the same premises as the firearms in their design: maximum mechanical trustworthy and perfection in surface finishes. The first manufactured desk accessories were the M5 model desk stapler that had an immediate success in the domestic market and started to fill many public and private offices around Spain. New products followed the first launch: pencil sharpeners, paperweights, office perforators etc. These pushed forward a quick expansion of the company, but always maintaining the trustworthiness of the products as the icon of its philosophy. The owners at this time said that ”the staple must run through the stapler in the same way that a bullet runs inside the cannon of a revolver”. In 1936 the Spanish Civil War started. Unfortunately the factory was totally destroyed in 1937 and only in 1940 the founders decided to rebuild it and restart the manufacturing of desk accessories. Since the mid 1940s to the 1970s El Casco was the leading manufacturer of staples and staplers in the domestic Spanish market. During the 80s and the 90s new, very high quality items were designed and launched, including 23ct gold finished accessories in order to open up the high end niche of the market. A significant investment was made in a new galvanisation plant to achieve perfect finishes close to the ones obtained in jewellery. Today, the El Casco range is sold in more than 40 countries worldwide; our products are displayed in the very best stationery stores and men's gift shops. Politicians and high level professionals enjoy our desk accessories on their desks providing them a high-performing product and a touch of elegance. At the end of 2010, we have opened a new, modern plant situated in a small town named Elgeta, just 6 miles way from our old factory, optimizing our process but maintaining the essence of its legendary aesthetic and mechanic quality.PLEASE LOOK MY OTHER ANTIQUES COLLECTIBLES ITEMSQuick delivery and tracking number.Bidders from outside the European Union are welcome,
