Description: Genuine 1736 - 1796 Ch'ien-Lung Qianlong reignChina cash coin, VG circulated condition with all characters clearly legible. Coin era identifie from the 3rd pic, sourced from wiki pages on cash coins. It's an exact match. I've owned this coin since before fakes came into being. This one is genune. Qianlong (Ch'ien-lung): (乾隆; 12 February 1736 – 8 February 1796) When the Yongzheng Emperor died suddenly in 1735, the will was taken out and read before the entire Qing imperial court, after which Hongli became the new emperor. Hongli adopted the era name "Qianlong", An interesting Wiki fact is that Ch'ien-lung was one of few emperors to abdicate 4 days before a 60 year reign, and did so out of respect for his grandfather K'ang Hsi's reign to remain the longest. The 2 characters on the obverse refer to the site the coin was minted. Beware of bargain priced thin etched or recently stamped copies ..If the coin looks new with debris sometimes deposited in low spots, it's most likely a new copy.200-300 year old genuine coins very rarely show no signs of wear on high spots. Copper - bronze coins wear VERY quickly compared to nickel or steel coins, often within 1 year. Please check my other coin auctions for combined shipping rates.
