Description: This is a General Motors maintenance manual for the 645E3B turbocharged engine. This engine was part of the General Motors EMD 645 series. These powerful engines were primarily used for locomotives. However, they were also used for marine and stationary engine use. The 645 series was an evolution of the earlier 567 series and a precursor to the later 710 series. First introduced in 1965, the EMD 645 series remained in production on a by-request basis long after it was replaced by the 710, and most 645 service parts are still in production. The EMD 645 engine series is currently supported by Electro-Motive Diesel, Inc., which purchased the assets of the Electro-Motive Division from General Motors in 2005. This manual was printed in 1979 by General Motors. It has hundreds of b/w photos and drawings, plusa couple of full color illustrations. The pages arenot numbered, so I do not know how many pagesthere are. I would guess around 250 pages. This is a three ring binder, 11" by 10", with three holes punched into each page. Please note that about a dozen of the pages have holes that are torn. If you wish, you could repair those holes with white round reinforcement stickers, which are easily available online, in office stores, and even in grocery stores. The binder has some soiling to the cover. Two of the three metal rings do not come together correctly when they are snapped shut. Instead, they overlap somewhat (please see last photo).Perhaps this could be adjusted with some pliers. Otherwise, this manual is in good condition, with some general wear. Please check the photos closely for more details. Shipping within the USA is FREE via USPS Media Mail. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
