Seems to serve as a Flower or Plant Pot combo. The photos I took from above display the two compartments intended to contain something. This piece was painstakingly & beautifully painted & adorned. The website article mentioned below contains an in depth expert history of the manufacturer including the marks and times of the mark, beginning in 1822 (till the present). According to this history, the mark on this piece went into use in 1900, & was not changed till 1910. The second photo is untouched, as are all the other photos- exceept the first photo of the Mark. I used a auto adjustment ito make the mark stand out more for you to see it. ( I'm a flip phone guy. My digital camera is not the best, & i did my best for you to see the mark. In person, most of it is easily visible, a magnifying glass makes the rest easily visible. Highest point measures approx 8 ¾”. Deepest measurement is approx 4 ¼” front to rear. Width is approx 8 ¼” .This probably was bought new by my great grandmother. Minimally, this was my grandmother’s. My mother & uncles, I as well, grew up with it in her house. The expert article I referred to and offered a way to read here indicates this piece was made between 1900 &1910.Local pickup is available. If i sell this with shipping through any platform, I will reinforce the box with two or three layers of extruded styrofoam insulation. I will wrap the piece in paper, but wrap the piece again in layers of upholstery type foam. The piece will be secured in the space with more foam & fillers. It will not be able to move, & will be cushioned & protected so it will not get damaged in shipping. I have considerable experience at this. It is very costly to pack these kinds of items properly.
