Either way, this is a neat machine that makes spiral bound books! This item is in good cosmetic condition, and seems to be in good mechanical condition as well. Sadly, I do not have any of the plastic binding strips with which to test this machine. Also, while searching out other listings for comparison, I noticed that many of the other machines seem to have two legs that elevate it a bit; this machine does not have these; I do not know why. Looking at the bottom, the machine doesn't look to be obviously missing anything, but I am not the original owner and can't say for sure.
