Description: Outstanding view of Paris oil on board by listed Argentinian artist Gaston Jarry (1889-1974). Jarry studied at Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires, graduating in 1916. He exhibited regularly at the National Salon in Argentina, winning prizes in 1920, 1938, and the Grand Acquisition Prize in 1951. Jarry produced a mural for the Argentinian Pavilion of the New York World's Fair in 1939 as well as murals for the Ministry of Public Works and the National Post Office. Jarry traveled widely in Europe and frequently painted landscapes and cityscapes of Paris. Jarry's work is in the collections of numerous museums including the National Museum of Fine Arts in Argentina. This painting is signed lower right and measures 7" x 9" (sight size).
