Description: This auction is for a new 8 x 10-inch Autographed B&W Photo copy of the late and Great Gary Bettenhausen. The autograph is original on mine, but your getting just a copy. An open-cockpit legend in the day, Gary died in 2014 at the age of 72. Gary raced in the Indy 500 also and came close to winning it in 1972 after leading it for 138 laps. His other accomplishments in motorsports are too many to list here in USAC Midgets, Sprint and Champ Cars. Now AJ Foyt is the greatest man to this day to ever take the wheel in a Indy type Race Car with 4 Indy 500 Wins, 67 Indy Car Victories, 7 Championships, etc. The only man ever to win the race in a front engine car and rear engine car and he did it twice in each category. Dirt Champ Car wins, Sprint Car wins and Midget wins... And 7 NASCAR wins including the Daytona 500 in the Wood Brothers Mercury #21. Foyt would retire from active competition on May 15, 1993 after traveling at a speed of 221:114 mph during the Indy 500 qualifying weekend.
