Description: This listing is for Garden Giants (Stropharia rugosoannulata aka wine caps) on organic oats. There are over 6lbs per bag and the price includes shipping. One bag covers about 25sqft 6-8" deep of wood chips. There is an expected shipment times of 14 business days to ship but sometimes will go out sooner if they are ready. Feel free to contact on shipping times. Growing garden giants also known as wine caps is one if the easiest ways getting started in growing mushrooms. They will grow easily on a bed of fresh wood chips or mulch with an added layer of straw on the top to provide a moisture rich casing layer. You will want to pick a partially shaded area not in full sun to grow these. I like to lay cardboard down before the first layer of mulch or wood chips to prevent any weeds or grass from growing up into the bed. A few inches of wood chips should be laid down and then a layer of spawn and then covered with another layer of wood chips. Be sure not to make the beds too deep as this will prevent the mushrooms from growing. I like to go with about 6-8” and about a 5'X5' bed is the largest you would want to go per bag or risk a very slow or failing growth. The bed will benefit from plenty of watering, and you should see some mushrooms in about 6 months but often I see a few pop up much quicker.
