It swaps out quickly and easily so you can get back to production as quickly as possible. To change the slice size of your existing Garde onion slicer, be sure to pair this blade assembly with the corresponding 1/4" pusher assembly. 2 blade assemblies are included.If you are not familiar with this system, it requires both of these blade assemblies to get the 1/4" spacing. Each assembly has 1/2" spacing and when installed correctly in the slicer, they are offset from each other 1/4" to get the spacing of the said 1/4". I suppose this makes it easier to start the slicing because you are going through half as many blades. Then, after the first half have started the cut, the other half starts. To further explain, this is from the manual: Operation 1) Remove ring pin from lockdown position hole and place in the hole on the handle. 2) Use the handle to raise the push plate to the upright position. 3) Carefully place produce on the blade surface. Make sure the produce isn’t larger than the blade surface. a. Note: For proper functionality and slice size make sure the two appropriate blade cartridges are set on top of one another. 4) Make sure hands/fingers are clear of the cutting area. 5) With one firm, swift motion bring the handle down until the push plate pushes the produce completely through the blade cartridges.
