Description: Offered for immediate purchase . . . . . . is a packet containing more than fifty (50+) ~ Medium-Size (Mississippi) Vintage Gar Scales Dyed Shades of Deep Red ~ in the usual variety of shapes and sizes, measuring from approximately half an inch (1/2") to approximately seven-eighths of an inch (7/8") long, as shown in the contents of a sample packets shown in the photos. (Please Note ~ my Poinsettia Brooch shown in one of the photos is for illustration purposes only and is not included with your purchase.) These vintage Gar Scales were dyed various shades of deep red on the top side and exhibit shades of deep ivory & red on the underside. Either side can be used, which provides multiple options for your creations. These hard-to-find Gar Scales were collected from vintage supplies I've been fortunate enough to purchase throughout the years, and were used throughout the 1940s to 1960s era to create flower petals for seashell jewelry, flowers, pictures, and floral bouquets. With their striking color, they make great accents in Sailor's Valentines! And, as shown in one of the photos, these would be FABULOUS for creating spiky Poinsettia petals!
