Description: Buy It Now: A fully working Special Marfield Chugging Choo-Choo Train Set from TOMY's Toy Town Brand, Japan, circa 1969. This set was produced in Japan and imported into the US toy market and is fully working which means that the train travels along the track layout as it should. These train sets mimic the use of rack and pinion gearing used in TOMY's Grippidee Gravidee toy sets, to allow the train to climb and descend the hill portion of the layout, as well as riding along the "monkey traffic bars" and activating the train stop bell and rabbit movement. NOTE: This beautiful working set is being sold as is with no returns. You should always store it without the battery installed and when not it use it's good to put the battery in and turn the train on for a couple of minutes every month. Also included is a rare two-sided instruction sheet, with the name curiously being "Climbing Chuckling Choo-Choo." All the track and other pieces are in near mint new/old stock overall condition. It appears that the track set has never been removed from the Styrofoam base. Some of the track pieces fit together tight so the more gentle you are handling these pieces the longer they'll last. Most of the pieces also fit tight inside their custom shaped wells inside the Styrofoam so I recommend removing them very slowly and carefully so as not to damage the pieces nor the Styrofoam. All the pieces only fit one way into their wells, including the left and right bridge pieces. This fabulous set is only missing one decorative tree, one train crossing light post, and the little bunny and bear that sat inside the train car that hooks up behind the train - all can be seen in the box top photo. See photos for condition details. The large toy box measures: 28-1/4 in. Length x 16-1/2 in. Width x 4 in. Height. Box is in remarkable condition for a 55 year old toy, showing minor wear and a couple of small tears. The styrofoam bottom is in excellent/near mint overall condition. Special care will be taken in shipping: I will place packing material inside the box to keep all the pieces from moving around during shipping, and then wrap the entire toy box in bubble wrap before packing it into the custom made shipping box.
