Fright Night Part 2 (VHS, 1989) IVE Watermarks Sealed Graded by IGS as 9.5 / 9.5

Description: A very nice, new, sealed VHS tape titled "Fright Night Part II". The box was graded by IGS as a 9.5 (gem) and the seal as a 9.5 (gem). White watermarks are on the side from International Video Entertainment INC (IVE, known today as Lions Gate Home Entertainment). IVE watermarks indicate a first release of the VHS tape (see info below for more details as to why). Tape was distributed by MCA Distribution Corp. "Fright Night Part 2" was released in 1989, the film grossed $2,983,784 domestically and has since become a cult film like its predecessor "Fright Night". In 2003, it was released briefly on DVD by Artisan Entertainment, but the release quickly went out of print and since has become a rare collector's item. Due to rights issues, the film has not had a home video release since, but has become a common bootleg. According to a 2018 article in Bloody Disgusting, the film's home video rights were left in limbo due to a hasty restructuring following the murder of its head of distribution, José Menéndez and his wife by their two sons. Artisan Entertainment was founded in 1980 as Family Home Entertainment, Inc (FHE). In 1984 FHE was consolidated into International Video Entertainment, Inc. (IVE). The IVE name was used for non-family releases and the FHE name was used for family releases. That's why "Fright Night Part 2" has the IVE watermarks (R or X rated, not recommended for family viewing). In 1989 FHE and IVE consolidated into LIVE Home Video. In 1990, IVE became LIVE Home Video. Later versions of "Fright Night Part 2" have the LIVE Home Video watermarks on the sides. Only the first releases of "Fright Night Part 2" have the IVE watermark on them.
