Description: This lovely one of a kind banjo, I finished today November 3, 2024. I call it the Barbara Ellen banjo because of the rose and briar carvings on it that I covered with inlay. Building these banjos off an on for 20 or so years I seldom get the time or opportunity to get as creative and artistic as I would like but I let it flow on this one. It does have flush frets with a 24” fret scale. The beech neck is beautiful in its natural color and the cherry body and locust fretboard set it off. The super nylgut strings add that good old timey sound that people have come to know and love. The Grover gear tuners are a great embellishment for ease of tuning and love the look. For the 5th gear peg I used the stew Mac 5th peg reamer so the peg actually fits in like it should and can be tapped out if ever need changed. The thick fretboard adds a lot of room for picking and strumming. This is probably the last one I will build like this so don’t miss out and I’m out of the gear tuners and can’t afford to buy more. I’m a very small one at a time handmade shop and what you see here on eBay is what I’ve got together for the holiday season so people have a good selection to choose from. I’m really going to slack off on these in January and February. I’m going to make one more of rustic oak and that’s it for a couple months to let me get caught up on cleaning my space and building a couple flintlocks. Anyways, thanks for reading and I will enclose a set of guidelines with this that I typed up that may help you get to know me a bit more and about the instrument. I will pack this in double ply cardboard box that I custom make and a couple different types of bubble wrap and styrofoam peanuts and use a couple different types of tape. The shipping rates you see on all my instruments are what they charge me to ship but the materials to ship with do cost and I have to factor that into my price. The 3 hours it takes to pack one securely and drive half hour or so to the post office is time and expense that I donate to this and it’s getting harder to do. Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any questions.
