Description: Very nice bow! The proof is in the playing, then the listening. Round Stick. Silver Mounted. This is a beautiful bow, probably late early 19th century and priceless for the repertoire that it was intended for. High quality dark Pernambuko wood. Excellent craftsmanship. Play Characteristics: Camber draws evenly. Sound is beautiful with medium depth. Great for mid-1800's to early 1900's repertoire. Spiccato is soft. Sound follows the camber which is in the mid-range of the bow. So, if this is your repertoire, 19th century to early 20th century, then this is your bow! It's that simple. You won't be disappointed. Weight 58.0 grams & 74 cm length with button As for provenance, the stick at least appears to have been made by J.P.M. Persoit. Another possibility for the stick is Jacob Eury. So, a likely provenance would be France for the stick. However, the mounts are clearly German. So a possible composite bow. Since I don't have a certificate, I am selling the bow as speculative and at a very low price point if it is Persoit. If it isn't Persoit, you've got a terrific player that draws a beautiful tone. Compare it to your current bow and you'll immediately appreciate what I've written. Let me know if you have any questions. Shipped in PVC tube inside double lined cardboard box via courier. Insured.
