French Art Nouveau Engraved Crystal Jardiniere, Gilt Bronze Ormolu, c. 1890

Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely small antique French Art Nouveau engraved crystal jardiniere with gilt bronze mounts, c. 1890. The crystal insert has a deeply scalloped upper edge and is engraved with a garland wreath on a ribbon on both the front and back. The gilt bronze stand is decorated with a floral spray at each end and has a pierced decorated base with a pierced band above. This piece was most likely purchased from the Palais Royal area of Paris during the Grand Tour era at the end of the 20th Century when travel to Europe was popular. This piece was possibly part of an extensive group of dresser items that could be purchased separately and would be a nice ladies dresser or desk accessory. Measures 3 1/4" high, 5 1/2" long and 3 1/2" wide. Weighs 11 ounces. This nice jardiniere is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. The gilt bronze finish is bright and free of damage. The top edge of the glass jardiniere was original gilded and there is wear in this area otherwise we found nothing wrong with this lovely piece.We welcome International buyers, however, please be aware that as sellers we cannot be responsible for random Customs inspections or any charges incurred as a result of this purchase.
