Description: This is a wonderful example of a French Bronze-Dore' Box. The box is lined with walnut, perfectly stained and finished. The top wood panel is held in with tiny little feet at the corner of the inside of the box. The outside represents a book like form. The lid closes flush with the bottom. The front features a lovely array of colored enamel, all present and intact, no missing enamel. In the center of the box is a French hand painted and foiled Limoges portrait signed by L.C.. The bottom is hallmarked France. This box dates from the 1900s.
