French antique 19th century oil painting 'The visitor' panel /signed /Barbizon

Description: This is the most exceptional combination- I find it hard to decide which is most beautiful the painting or the frame -The French oil painting on a wooden panel (most likely oak) It is an early piece of French art it dates we believe from the early part of the 19th century- possibly 1830-40 (It is signed and dated but impossible to decipher) It shows a country scene including the prettiest cottage, the owner waiting on the path for the arrival of her visitor who she can see approaching up the country lane - This painting so captures the peace and tranquility of the time- the slow pace of life ,the stillness & the clean fresh country air.The frame is exceptionally fine (it is Period and original to the painting) - the detail, shape and depth - - it is very heavy too for the size of the painting.1.8 kilos - nearly 4lbs Condition - Good antique condition -painting untouched exactly as found - No missing paint or damage - Frame solid wood & plaster -the frame does show fine fissures in the moulding- commensurate with age and typical of this style of frame. Expected small areas of rub to the gilding of the frame.
