Rich began leading a studio band in 1925 and recorded for Banner, Gennett, Okeh, Harmony, Columbia, Paramount, Camden and Vocalion. These celebrated recordings include “A Peach of a Pair" , "I Got Rhythm", “The Little Things In Life”, "Cheerful Little Earful" and "I'm Tickled Pink with a Blue-Eyed Baby". His main recording sessions lasted until 1933. In 1945, Rich was badly injured when he suffered a fall. As a result, he suffered from partial paralysis. But despite this, Rich continued to lead studio bands into the 1950s. Fred Rich died on September 8, 1956 in California at the age of 58 after a long illness. This CD includes a selection of recordings made in 1929 to 1930. They feature some great jazz musicians of the period. There are several hot jazz solos throughout the sessions.
