Description: Beautiful like new rare and unique collectible sterling silver and 24k yellow gold plate from the Franklin Mint, released for Easter in 1973 - 50 years ago! This lovely plate is made of solid sterling silver with 24k yellow gold plated Resurrected Jesus Christ in the center. It has never been displayed and seldom handled, and includes all original paperwork, and includes the original display sleeve and original box. Paperwork includes the numbered limited edition letter, a brochure about EvAngelos Frudakis, the sculptor, and a Certificate of Authenticity."The Resurrection" is an original work which EvAngelos Frudakis created expressly for the first Annual Franklin Mint Easter Plate in 1973. The celebrated sculptor's first collector's plate is a superb illustration of the artist's classical technique which adapts itself magnificently to the reverent interpretation of religious subjects. Here Frudakis has pictured the central fact of the Easter celebration---Jesus Christ's emergence from the tomb after his Crucifixion, arising from death to life---conveying the universal promise of redemption and resurrection. On the reverse side of the plate is a plaque with the edition name and the year and serial number. Artist signature is on the front of the plate. Weight of the plate is 305 grams.The plate has two small areas which are not perfect and I have included photos of them. Other than these two very small areas, the plate is perfect, with no dents or dings and no scratching or stains. The sleeve has a couple of small stains inside and the outer box is somewhat damaged from 50 years of storage. All of this can be viewed in the photos. This lovely piece of art is coated with a specially made clear coating which will prevent tarnishing, so it will look new and shiny for as long as you own and cherish it.
