Description: This is a coffee pot in Franciscan's FERN DELL line, introduced in 1957. It features some fronds of fern against a speckled white background. This piece stands 10" tall and the diameter of the opening is 3". It is about 8.5" spout to handle. The mark on the bottom shows this piece was made February 1954 to July 1958--but since this pattern didn't start production that narrows window down to 1957 to July 1958. Colors are vivid, no scratches to design or anywhere else on the piece. No blemishes. Shiny glaze. I do see a crack on the base of the handle. It does not go all the way through. It is hard to see so not visually glaring--plus it is located at the base of the handle in an area that is hard to see depending on height of surface it is on. Still, the placement of it on the handle makes it so this piece is more appropriate for display that serving coffee. At this point, the handle is secure but I would worry that pouring it with the weight of liquid in it might make that crack worse. Priced according to this condition. The piece is so beautiful despite that hairline crack. Even the interior has very little coffee stains--unusual for these--so it must have seen very little use. How I Assess Vintage Pieces My listings are more than just a one line list of the dimensions. I strive to identify all flaws—even minor ones—in the listing, with both photos and descriptions. This means you know what you are getting from me. Vintage items typically have light signs of usage: utensil marks, diminishment in shine to the glaze, scratches on the design, chips, crazing, and cracks. The situations mentioned above are exactly what I examine each item for, under a bright light and with glasses on, as I am listing it. I don’t use the word “excellent” unless there is no crazing, no cracks, no chips, zero utensil marks, and no muting of colors or glaze sheen…so I rarely use the word “excellent” for a vintage item. Problems: In the event of a problem, please contact me asap. I want you to be happy with your purchase! Returns: Returns accepted within 30 days of purchase. Buyer pays return postage. No refund will be given if item arrives broken or damaged, so please pack returns very carefully. Feedback I leave feedback within a week after your item is received. If you are considering leaving neutral or negative feedback, please contact me first! Unhappy buyers who leave negative feedback without contacting the buyer first for resolution do not give Sellers the opportunity to make things right—so everyone loses! I appreciate the chance to make things right. If you check out my feedback, you will see I do not often disappoint. Looking for Other Vintage Mid Century Modern Items? WAXWING MID MOD may be able to help! Let me know what you are after. At any given moment I have 100+ items not listed yet! I focus on mid-century modern plate sets, serving pieces, barware, glassware, stemware, vases, and art. You can find me under astridwaxwing9 on Instagram. I love reuniting orphan glassware with its pattern family! Franciscan, Noritake, Lenox, Stangl, Salem, California potteries, Doroty Thorpe, McCoy, Hazel Atlas, Fire King, Anchor Hocking, Pyrex, and Corning Ware/Corelle are some of the brands I seek out and educate myself about. I’m drawn to kitchen ware because kitchen is the heart of the home. The ritul of choosing a plate pattern when getting married is one of the first choices an engaged couple makes together. This is when they decide, what is that image of successful adulthood do they want to portray to their friends and family? This was a decision that usually the woman had more influence on. In the latter half of the 20th century, women did not have much power in a relationship but they did have power in the kitchen! Ironically, I have no dining table. I lost it in my divorce and never replaced it. I live vicariously through my Buyers! My plate pattern when I got married in 2002 was Franciscan Starburst, and I still have those pieces. I love to host cocktail/mocktail parties which is when my MCM serving ware collection gets used. A nice vintage piece, whether beautiful, swanky, or ridiculously weird, ALWAYS enhances a meal or gathering! 9822.15 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
