Description: Here is a gorgeous heavy-weight platter or chop plate of Franciscan Wear from California in the Coronado pattern in off-white. The solid white finish is low sheen gloss (maybe this is considered the matte version?) with embossed swirls on the rim making for an unusual scalloped edge. This distinctly mid-century modern pattern was produced from 1936 to 1954. Condition is good for a 1940s serving piece with no chips, cracks, crazing or discoloration - but there are utensil marks and scuffs, see last photo. It measures 11.5" in diameter with 7/8" high sides. It weighs 2 lb. 4.4 oz. The half-moon style backstamp in light blue reads "Franciscan, Made in California, A" and was in use from 1949-1953. Thanks for looking.
