Image of men working on a construction project at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. This birds-eye view depicts the pipeline and tank farm construction. The pipeline extended from Big Piney to Roubidoux. Dated April 25, 1963. Also included is an 8 x 10 photo of an unidentified young man in his US Army uniform which came with this photo. He may have owned the photos, was the photographer, or perhaps worked on the project. Measures approximately 8 x 10 including white border. Condition: This is an original photograph, not a copy or reproduction. It is in excellent condition. Comments: Fort Leonard Wood is a U.S. Army training installation located in the Missouri Ozarks. The main gate is located on the southern boundary of The City of St. Robert. The post was created in December 1940 and named in honor of General Leonard Wood (former Chief of Staff) in January, 1941. Originally intended to train infantry troops, in 1941 it became an engineer training post with the creation of the Engineer Replacement Training Center.
