Once home to ancient wizards who performed dark rituals, they tainted the land with unnatural magic that haunts it to this day. Many years ago a small army of rangers vowed to cleanse the land. They built the Shadow Wood Keep and restored ancient trade roads between the kingdoms. They maintained nearly two centuries of peace until a mysterious explosion destroyed the keep. No one knows what happened, but legend says that while no survivors were found, neither were any bodies recovered. The roads quickly grew over and no one dared enter the forest since.”A Shadow Wood Forest scatter set includes 13 pieces and 7 trees in total: two thickets (four small trees in total), three standard trees, one small hill, one large stone, three scatter stones, and three small stones.Trees come in three categories. Small trees are simple in design with no visible roots and average 2-5” tall. They tend to grow in clumps and are not based individually. Standard trees are more complex in design; they often have roots and multiple or larger canopies. Standard trees average 4-6” tall and occupy more volume usually than small trees. Large trees average 5-8” tall and usually occupy the most volume and/or are the most complex.Thickets and knolls represent thick clumps of smaller trees with a large amount of undergrowth. Thickets average 3.5x2” and have two small trees. Knolls average 6x4” and have four small trees and one standard tree (five trees in total).Scatter stones measure aprx. 1-2” in base and ½” tall. Small stones measure aprx. 1-2” in base and are 1.5-2” in height. Large stones measure aprx. 5.5x3.5” base and 2” in height.Small hills average 7”x5”x2” Each piece is unique and crafted from the heart. The terrain in the photos are examples that represent the stock on our shelf .Although there are some variations, the overall size and style are cohesive. All miniatures are for size comparison only and are not part of the sale.We are happy to be involved in a craft that allows us to reuse and recycle a lot of supplies that would otherwise be trash. Many of our paints, hardware, and greenery are reused from nonprofit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill, and Salvation Army. Much of our cardboard, Styrofoam, and packing materials are reused to keep them from landfills. In fact, we save our own Styrofoam clippings to use as shipping materials. We are a very small studio with the goal of finding the right balance between highly detailed and highly playable terrain. With decades of tabletop and modeling experience alongside art school training, we bring a thoughtful and unique perspective to our work. All of our sets within a themed collection will be cohesive and built to interact with other sets in the same themed collection.
