Description: The 1960's was the greatest decade for the American Automotive Industry in the development of hi-performance race cars and production vehicles. During that time Ford was successful in their effort to become a major player and dominated Indy, NASCAR, NHRA, Rallye, and FIA International Motor Racing. During that time I was employed at Ford's Engine and Foundry Division working on the race program that developed the most powerful, durable and now historic competition engines and power trains. This 8.5 X 11, 25 page book contains rare copies of the original product engineering - experimental engine inspection records used in-house for each component that was collected, inspected, measured, fitted, assembled, tested and/or used in competition. Each and every race engine that was built was assigned an E&F internal serial number. For example engine no. AX-316-1-41 was given to GT40P-1046. A 7.0 liter V8 MKII GT40 that won Le Mans in 1966. These records were kept at E&F's engineering office located in the Engine and Electrical Engineering Laboratory (EEE) in Dearborn, Michigan. When an engine was assembled or torn down, had abnormal wear, a component or catastrophic failure or finished a race without incident - all was recorded in the log book. Thanks for looking....WF
