Description: FORD MERCURY 312 Y-BLOCK NEOPRENE RUBBER REAR MAIN SEAL KIT This molded rubber rear main seal kit is the only proper molded rear main seal made to fit the Ford 312 Y-Block engine. This is not a modified Chrysler seal. These were engineered and are made by Best Gasket of Santa Fe Springs, Ca. Part #3A52. This kit will only fit a 312. It does not fit the 239, 256, 272 or 292 Y-Blocks. 312 engines can be difficult or impossible to correctly identify visually without removing the oil pan. A 312 engine will have main bearing caps with the letters "ECZ" on them. You cannot identify a 312 from the engine block casting number as Ford used the same block castings for both 292 and 312 engines.
