Description: I am pleased to offer this glamorous OOAK outfit, one that I have wanted to whip up for a long time! Long ago, I saw a fab cocktail dress someone crafted from Golden Glory (GG) brocade. I tried to make one like it a year or two ago and it was very pretty but not as close to the one I saw online as I hoped. Recently finding a TLC GG coat gave me a second chance! The coat was worn with some discoloration to the brocade and green chiffon lining and was missing its dark brown mink collar and gold beads. Perfect for giving it a new life. Everything about the dress I made is original vintage Mattel material (even the YKK zipper) except for the new gold beads (an homage to the gold beads at the edges of the GG mink collar) and thread. The bottom hem is the original coat hem (untacked). My model has a relatively wide stance so the dress should fit all vintage Barbies. Be careful working the zipper up and down to keep it from catching or stressing. The bodice isn't quite as sleek fitting as I tried to make it but pretty good for my skill level and an eye-catching display. Accessories: I fashioned this headband hat from a bit of dark brown vintage mink I had -- fine wire stay will allow you to shape it to your doll's head. Lined with GG green chiffon (glued) with gold glitter on the front edge and gold bead trim at one end. I also made this clutch from Golden Glory fabric and a bit of mink and gold bead (note -- the GG green chiffon is tucked in, not sewn in -- it will stay there, just don't pull on it). The outfit is completed with new (China) clear open toe heels that I embellished with gold glitter (tight fit, push firmly but slowly on to your doll's feet. Nice for display, not the best left/right shapes -- see close up). You will receive the dress, hat, heels, and purse only.
