Description: A recent estate sale find from Pensacola Florida, but originally from Tennessee, probably Crossville Tennessee. This cane is carved from a single branch of wood. The handle is fashioned from a branch, and it incorporates a sculpted bald eagle perched on the top of the branch. The stick itself is decorated with several different birds that are native to the Tennessee area, and each one has its identifier. (apparently) wood burned into the the wood beneath the painted Image. The artist has signed near the bottom and it appears to say the name is Jane Byrd . There’s a rubber foot on the bottom and the entire thing is vanished. The parrot and the spotted owl have a beak fashioned from one of nodes of the branch and the parrot's eyes are actually inlaid with a little "crystal" gem. Another amazing little detail on this fine little piece of folk art is the discovery of several more tiny crystals inlaid randomly along the length of the cane. . It measures 34” total length. Cardinal Blue jay Parrot Spotted owl Warbler Titmouse Plus one more.
