The clasp spring is strong in the metal swivel snap hook so that it also opens smoothly & fully closes firmly as well. And the thumb brake lock grabs & holds the belt tightly. It should be noted that this is an extremely rare & discontinued model. Previous Flexi models such as this were built much more durable with slightly thicker plastic for the housing & weigh more overall to current comparable Flexi models on the market today. As stated in the title, this is an X-Large model designed for dogs up to 165 LBS (75 Kilos). It can hold a MONSTER of a dog! This is likely the strongest & longest dog leash ever manufactured in the entire world. However, since this item is USED, it does contain noticeable cosmetic wear such as scratches, scuffs, nicks & stains. The finish on the metal swivel snap hook is partially worn off. And the black plastic sleeve at the end of the leash, just before the metal swivel snap hook, appears to have been "chewed on" by an angry Fido! LOL!
