Description: Beautiful hand carved Oak mantle circa 1890. Wow, I can’t believe I salvage this from the wrecking ball. Beautiful carvings, and a great shape. There are two little areas on the dental molding and what is the corner carvings that are missing. I have highlighted these in the photos. Quite an unusual mantle, I’ve never had one that substituted a carving for a mirror. The central focal point is a flaming torch which represented “hospitality”. Could use a good cleaning but overall great condition. Sizes are 74 inches high by 64 inches wide. Opening sizes are 39 x 40“. We are B & R Salvage of Youngstown, Ohio, and have been saving these beautiful pieces of the past for over 30 years.
