I just obtained a gigantic personal collection of Magic DVDs from a magician who has accumulated them over 2+ decades. And I already had bought a big wholesale close-out of DVDs from my supplier. So, I am up to my knees in DVDs! Literally! I need to find good homes for all the DVD's in this collection, so I will be listing them with little or no description. But check out the photos of the DVD case blurbs, and do a little research online for price and content, and you can get some great deals on these DVDs. I have quickly checked that they load and play, but can't take the time to watch them all and give my opinion/review. LEGACY SET OF FOUR DVDs. by FINN JON published by Essential Magic Collection (2006)If you are not familiar with the magic of Norwegian magician, Finn Jon, this 4-dvd set gives you a chance to see why he was so successful in the 1980's and 1990's, performing as one of Europe's top magicians, and a frequent performer at magic conventions in those decades. These four DVDs are a great way to see his creative approach to magic, which leads him to use methods unlike anyone else. (Though now, some of his most innovative methods for close-up levitations and object animations are commonly used by many, many magicians). His signature routines with bubbles and smoking his fingers, as well as his amazing floating ball are all performed, and explained. But he also shows a lot of close-up magic as well.Like most magicians on that era, Finn Jon was a "generalist" and performed stage, close-up, mental magic, etc. So these DVDs have a great mix of magic. Highlights for me are: his excellent idea on how to perform the Koran deck as a stand-up full stage effect; his well-thought-out silk handkerchief vanish which made me change the way I had been doing this trick (for about 50 years!); neat ideas to update and enhance your Invisible deck effect; and his very clever method for knowing exactly how many matches a spectator has removed from an ungimmicked matchbox. (You will smile when you see the method).His performances of his great stage magic show that maybe Finn Jon is not as polished as he used to be, but they are still impressive. And a "bonus" clip of a younger Finn Jon performing for a TV show is absolutely amazing -- he causes a borrowed tie to come to life like a snake, and does an incredible multiplying tennis balls routine. Many of his methods will require you to create special gimmicks (which Finn Jon handmade for himself), but much of the magic can be done even if you are not an arts-and-crafts wizard. See the photos of the back of the DVD case for more details on what you learn on the four DVDs. Retail on this DVD set is $150, and well worth it. I see one seller offering an opened set (like this one) for $125. But don't pay that much as you can get it for a lot less. And of course, these are authentic Essential Magic Collection product -- no bootlegs sold here!!!! EVER! CONDITION: previously owned, but in excellent condition -- discs and dvd slip case are as new. But if you buy more that one, postage drops significantly on combined shipments. eBay checkout should calculate about $1.30 for each additional single DVD.
