Description: FINEST Queen Anne Style Silver Gilt Tea Caddy, William Comyns, London, 1914. It really does not get much better than this stunning quality silver-gilt tea caddy or flask by the renowned William Comyns. I have to say that the quality of this piece exceeds much of Comyns more traditional work from its heavy gauge (312 grams) to the fine lemony gilding and engraving. Everything I would say is pretty much perfect but for a couple of pin-sized dents into the body on the panel where the hallmarks are. There are marks to the body, screw-off cover, and part marks to the underside. Today this can have a multitude of uses but could originally be styled after part of a Queen Anne toilet set. A really really cracking piece - the buyer will not be disappointed! I am listing a stunning private collecting of enamelled silver, Tiffany, minaudières and scent bottles over the coming week so do save me to your saved seller list if you like what we sell. We buy in bulk so hope to leave nice profits for dealers, big profits for retailers, and huge bargains for collectors!
