Tommasini was a noted San Francisco printer and typographer. In 1948, he started the practice of creating holiday keepsakes for family, friends and business associates. Over time, he made a series of 31 books, in editions ranging from 50 - 950 copies. They usually included a printed holiday greeting laid-in, stating the number in the series and the year. (This information was also printed on the obverse of the title page.) At the back of each volume is a colophon, stating how many copies in that year's edition and with a handwritten number - "this is copy number ___". Information is also provided regarding the paper, the fonts, the material for the covers and other details about the printing. A truly beautiful little book! So carefully made - it has aged very gracefully! This book was bought used, but is in very good condition. I take good care of my books in my smoke-free environment.
