Fine Large Vintage Papago Tohono O'odham Duck Effigy Basket Native American Tag

Description: Offered is a nice, good-sized Tohono O'odham (Papago) Duck Effigy Basket, made of bear grass and yucca. This comes with a tag identifying it as a handmade basket by the Papago Indians of Southern Arizona. Great Christmas present for someone who collects Native American Effigy baskets or ducks.It dates to the early 1980s or before, as it was in the mid-1980s that the name Papago was officially changed to Tohono O'odham. It measures approx. 10" from beak to tail, 6" to top of head, and 5" wide. Fine condition. Very slight rubbing at beak top and a few grass pieces stick out around top of head.
