Based on this premise, the B series' sound design was approached from two aspects. First is the sense of distance; different genres of music emphasize the sense of distance from the sound source in varying degrees. Classical and jazz music typically place a strong emphasis on presenting a spacious soundstage and reverberation. On the other hand, rock, pop, and video game/anime music focus more on instrument and vocal clarity, without highlighting spatiality, bringing instruments and vocals closer to the forefront. Next is the dynamic range, referring to the volume fluctuations over time. A large dynamic range allows for a fuller expression of musical nuances, but there are also genres that benefit from a smaller dynamic range, making instrument and vocal playback clearer. When reproducing music through earphones, these premises become extremely important. Customizing the most suitable frequency response curve and driver for different types of music makes the music more vivid. As shown in the chart, we use the horizontal axis to represent spatial sense and resolution, while the vertical axis shows the dynamic range. The Final E3000 was designed with the center of the chart in mind, whereas the B series exists outside of the E3000’s domain. In other words, the B series is designed to emphasize the key points that music wants to convey, making it even more beloved for specific genres of music. The B2 is well-suited for music recorded with a focus on spatial sense. Classical music that utilizes concert hall reverberations and live recordings that recreate the atmosphere of a venue are ideal. The breathing of the singer is clearly audible, and the subtle differences and tonal nuances in vocals and various instruments are accurately presented. Final-B-Series Concept Single Balanced Armature and MMCX Detachable Cable Design The Final B2 uses a single balanced armature driver with an MMCX detachable cable design. The included cable is an OFC high-purity oxygen-free copper wire. The MMCX design allows for easy cable replacement. With this design, the B2 offers a natural, gentle, and pressure-free listening experience across all frequency ranges. Final-B2-MIM Stainless Steel Housing Created by Metal Injection Molding Technology Metal Injection Molding (MIM) combines fine metal powder with a binder, such as resin, and shapes it through a mold, followed by high-temperature sintering and shape adjustment. Due to the high degree of freedom in design, even complex internal structures can be realized with metal. To ensure long-term use, Final has specially designed the B2 so that it can be opened and repaired using specialized tools. Custom-Fit Like Wearing Comfort The comfort of wearing earphones depends on the pressure exerted on the ears. Many earphones are designed based on ergonomics to find the best position and shape to fit the ears. However, this design, with a larger contact surface, can cause discomfort after long periods of wear. To minimize pressure on the ears, Final adopted a three-point support design, similar to a tripod, to ensure a stable fit. As shown in the diagram, the green part is the first contact point (soft silicone tip), the blue part (earlobe) is the second, and the pink part (concha), which gently hooks the earphone to prevent it from falling, is the third. With a clear contact shape, most people can wear these earphones comfortably without feeling pressure, making them feel like custom-made earphones. Original Ear Tips with Different Colors for Left and Right The sound conduit and ear-contacting parts are made of silicone with different hardness levels. The sound conduit is made harder with processed grooves for high strength and durability, while the soft silicone used for the ear tips provides comfortable wearing and excellent sound isolation. With gray on one side and red on the other, the color design makes it easy to distinguish between left and right in low-light conditions.
