They served in close proximity to the ruling class. More than just warriors, being responsible for military strategy, they were also highly educated. As a walking fortress a Knight was impervious to swords, arrows and other weapons. As firearms were developed the armor lost its advantage and became mostly symbolic. Beautifully cast in pewter and then painstakingly finished this figurine measures 1 3/4" x 1" x 4" tall.
