Description: FENDER SQUIER AFFINITY STRAT- 2001 MIC, BALTIC BLUE, PLAYS, SOUNDS GREAT! This 2001 Baltic Blue Affinity Stratocaster plays and sounds great! It has many dings, dents, & scratches over most of the body but fortunately the neck/head stock and fingerboard/frets have been spared and look virtually untouched/undamaged. A very nicely grained rosewood fretboard on the one piece Maple neck without skunk stripe really stands out and is the true star of the show! Excellent fret work, feels very nice- the neck has a satin poly finish and the back is very smooth. Very few/minimal marks as far as any type of damage/wear- a couple very small faint impressions and that's about it- very clean neck. The Baltic blue finish is a really nice shade of blue with plenty of gloss in the clear coat. Although it does have it's share of battle wounds in the form of dings dents and scratches- none of them seem to break the paint except for a series of four to five about the diameter of a pencil on the bottom edge of the body near the strap button where it looks like they gouged the body and have been touched up and that's the worst. Speaking of touch-up paint, it looks like someone had a day with the craft paint and did a little embellishing on the original finish , mostly just tracing around the pick guard so that's going to be something you can deal with- nothing major doesn't look too terrible. There's a little bit of buckle rash on the back but a fair amount of scratches over most of the guitar but no real damage, cracks, breaks or repairs. All electronics work as they should and I just put new D'Addario 9-42 strings on it and set the intonation/action it plays great- Nice low action and the resonant Alder body really vibrates! It even comes back in tune when you hit the whammy bar. The chrome sealed tuners and the tremolo bridge are in nice shape with no signs of corrosion or pitting and the plastic on the pick guard and pick up covers and knobs are in good shape. Overall the guitar is a great platform for modding if you're interested in modding an Affinity Strat. The ones to get are the late 90s/early 2000ish made in China ones are superior I feel- I've had dozens of Squiers and those are always the ones that have been the best for myself with the most stable quality control in the neck/fret area which is very important if you want it to play and be worth anything as far as a decent guitar. I'll pack the Fender Squier Affinity Stratocaster in Baltic Blue well and ship UPS ground- Thanks for looking!
