Description: Welcome. Thanks for stopping in. Up for sale is a Fender Bandmaster Amplifier restoration. This unit is SN-A-28663, circuit AB763, manufactured in the US in 1968. This amp is fully restored and in excellent condition. Intended for guitar, this amp has lots of vintage appeal, plenty of punch and sounds great. The restoration of the amp is extensive so please read the entire description and review the pictures to understand the scope of the work performed. The amp is equipped with two (2) channels; a Normal channel and Vibrato channel, each with High (1) and Low (2) inputs, Volume, Treble, and Bass controls, and Bright switch. The Vibrato channel incorporates, additionally, a Vibrato (Tremolo) circuit with Speed and Intensity controls. The Vibrato is full and deep and does not thump. The original Vibrato circuit has been modified with a custom designed LED/LDR roach driven by the 12AX7, instead of using the commercially available Gas Discharge/LDR replacement and, additionally, eliminates bulb burn-outs that go with it. This circuit reduces the channel High Pass cut-off frequency increasing the Bass response and provides great effect depth (12db). This is accomplished by the modified circuit which removes the 50KA intensity control loading down the Vibrato channel. This amp achieves clean output up to 39 Watts RMS. This amp is equipped with an all-new tube line-up and includes Electro-Harmonix 7025s, Tung-Sol 12AX7 and 12AT7, and a matched pair of Tung Sol 6L6GC-STRs. This amp has low noise, has been burned in, extensively tested, and documented. This amp is provided with schematics including an As-Built and one documenting all mods and parts replaced. An impedance selector switch has been installed allowing for 4 and 8 ohm outputs and has been mounted on the chassis top so the back panel is not altered from it's original layout. A new customized footswitch with LED indicator can remotely operate the Vibrato circuit and a cover with a Fender Emblem sewn on the front are included. A pocket in the cover is provided and holds the power cord. This amp includes a number of safety and protection upgrades including IEC power cord connection with grounding, a grounded and fused AC Accessory outlet, AC line safety capacitor on the functional grounding switch, varistor surge protection, HT fusing, trickle charging resistor on the Standby circuit to reduce surge to the power supply capacitors when using Standby, and OT output protection resistors. The Standby switch has been flipped so that when the switch is in the "Standby" position, the amp is in Standby (Standby On). The Power transformer is original, however, all circuitry post power transformer is new including the turret boards, choke, output transformer, potentiometers, and components. The chassis has had rust removed and treated with rust preventer and the front faceplate clear coated to prevent further oxidation. Case, knobs, switches, jacks, faceplates, and tube chart are original. The back panel has been customized to accommodate the IEC inlet. Other than the afore mentioned Vibrato circuit, the post power supply topology, with few exceptions, is true to the original design, including the main board layout with most of the original wiring reused. The rectifier/bias board has been modified to include the trickle charge resistors, a snubber, and it has been relocated to allow better access for servicing. This amp has new black Tolex , new hardware, new handle, and new feet. There are minor scratches, imperfections, and metal oxidation typical of an amp over 50 years old. I am including the original piggy-back brackets (not mounted), and the original tone circuit capacitors (tested). The return period for this unit is fourteen (14) days after confirmed delivery from UPS is received.
