Description: First Day Cover for Scott 1865, the 35c definitive stamp from the Great Americans Series depicting Dr. Charles Drew. Drew is most famous for having developed and advanced techniques for the collection and storage of blood plasma, primarily in the 1940s. The stamp is postmarked on its day of issue with an unofficial first day cancellation using a round dater or plug cancel from Station 20 in Washington, DC. This station was one of several post offices located in the United States Capitol building or an affiliated House or Senate office building. A special imprint or handstamp showing the U.S. Capitol dome in red has also been applied to the envelope. The cachet is by House of Farnam. The cover is in very good condition. NOTE: The illustration may be a stock image. Terms: Satisfaction guaranteed. Discount on shipping for multiple purchases. Please ask before bidding if you have any questions.
