Charles Gink worked as an accountant and official. In 1942 he was a photographer's assistant at László Várkonyi's studio. In 1945 he worked for the Orient Image Service (press agency of the Hungarian Social Democratic Party); Worldwide Photographic Reporter for Workers; a member of the Foreign Ministry's photo department; 1950-1951 co-worker of the Hungarian Photo. From 1955 he was a freelance photographer. Then he made his first photographer's book. 1956: founding member of the Hungarian Association of Photographers; 1990: President of the Chamber of Hungarian Photojournalists.
