Description: Rare and highly collectable early edition. This is the seventh impression of first edition published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1950. Wonderful illustrations by Eileen Soper. Complete with hard to find rare 'white spine' dustrapper. BOOK CONDITION - REASONABLE DUSTWRAPPER CONDITION - REASONABLE NOT PRICE-CLIPPED Red boards have slight browning and marking. Minimal bumping on corners, although spine has a slight lean. Tiny wobble on front hinge but binding is all intact. Pages are a little tanned and have some foxing, mainly on edges. No inscriptions. Pages all intact. Dustwrapper has been price-clipped and has a bit of loss, as can be seen on photos. Still around 95% complete. Has quite a bit of creasing and general edge-wear. Some tears have been neatly repaired on the underside. There is some browning on back and spine, but front artwork is still colourful and bright.
