Description: We are pleased to offer for your buying consideration a FABULOUS SET OF THREE ANTIQUE FRENCH MINIATURE DOLL CORSETS WITH ANTIQUE PRESENTATION BOX! Possibly originally offered as a SALESMAN SAMPLE, this wonderful circa 1900 set can be worn or displayed with your antique French Fashion dolls or small Bebes, and they are getting harder to find in such small sizes! The set consists of a white cotton corset measuring 3 1/8" long in front and 4 3/4" in the back, measuring 4" wide when closed, a second cream colored cotton corset measuring 3 3/4" long at the longest point in the front and is 3 3/4" wide, and the third is a larger cream colored corset measuring 4 1/4" long and 4 3/4" wide. As in their adult size counterparts, the corsets are substantial in their sturdiness of fabric and have their original whalebone stays; the ribbons laced in front have been replaced. The corsets show some wear consisting of some age staining to the fabric; the largest one of the corsets has more considerable staining then the other two smaller ones which show minimal wear. The corsets are housed in a wonderful antique papered box showing a lovely lady who is obviously corseted by the looks of her tiny waist! The box measures 12 3/4" long, 4" wide and is about an inch thick, with remnants of some old tissue paper inside. The box also shows signs of wear, with some of the paper missing and the cardboard worn in places, but still makes an appropriate presentation for the corset set. On the back of the box is an old Christmas gift label handwritten "from Daisy" and dated 1903, a sweet bit of original provenance. We have shown it being modeled for scale purposes with our 13" antique French Fashion Doll, although a 17" to 18" Poupee or small Bebe would be of more appropriate size to actually wear one of the corsets.
