F. Loree Full-Conservatory Oboe--Just Overhauled, New ProTec Case, New Cover!

This is a Loree full-conservatory oboe, s/n DRxx. It is in excellent condition: bell has a very short crack in the socket which was permanently repaired so nicely that you probably wouldn’t have known it was there if we hadn’t disclosed it. The tenon weight is borne by the metal socket, so this crack should never be a problem. The upper joint had a couple open grains which were filled by CA glue by some wise tech years ago out of an abundance of caution to keep them from becoming cracks. Again, it was done so nicely that the prior owner played it for years without even knowing about it. The bore has no signs of internal cracks or damage at all. Silver plating is about 99.5% with perhaps just the tiniest bit of wear if you go looking for it. Best of all, it has just been through the shop prior to this listing where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, tone holes inspected, polished, lubed, had new tenon corks installed, and was repadded with Ferree’s premium cork pads except the two largest pads, which are Ferree’s B17 de’Jur double-bladder, pressed felt pads. Adjusted precisely and plays delightfully from top to bottom. Should play perfectly right out of the case on pickup. May need very minor tweaking if we’re shipping and the FedEx guy hits too many bumps. Cork grease and key oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a new silk swab and adjustment screwdriver. Comes in a brand-new, $100 ProTec MicroZip case and brand-new, $79 Kaces LUXE series weather-resistant padded cover with shoulder strap, lots of zippered pockets, and tons of style.
