Description: Extremely Rare Antique Primitive Buckeye S.P. Co. Akron OH Huge Stoneware Crock. This is quite possibly a one of a kind piece...I have been unable to find any other items with the same marks. I believe "Buckeye S.P. Co." is the Buckeye Sewer Pipe Company that was founded in Akron in 1868 and operated until merging with the American Sewer Pipe Co. in the 1880s. Based on the dimensions of approximately 22" in height and 18" in diameter, I believe the volume to be 20 gallons. Overall condition is good for age, but there are some large chips at the base and some large glaze "pocks". Please view photos for best assessment of condition.
