Description: Very high quality and quite early 6th plate daguerreotype from 1840’s taken of a young attractive female with tinted face. No wipes, no streaks, very very sharp and colorful image with tinting in subjects face. See photos. Condition report: Image is pristine to perfect, no cleaning, no wiping or scratches at all. Glass is perfect, hand rolled and blown sheet glass, original to the period of the photograph. Likely the original case. Case has seen better days, top is separated from bottom of case but it’s complete and latches still work! Image is sharp, highly detailed and retains original crisp color. Very very good photograph and the plate quality is like new. Some slight toning where the plate sat in the case for a century (see photos). Image has never been touched or wiped, plate is completely sound and in fantastic condition!
