About the artist: Eugene Schmidt (1919-2007) is a German born artist who had an art gallery in Santa Barbara for many years. He resided and painted in Santa Barbara for over 45 years. He is most known for his realistic paintings of architecture and landscape, most notably California historical buildings such as the California Missions.
