Description: Up for sale is a Very Rare, Early Printing of Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton. Early Printings of this 20th Century Classic are Scarce and Becoming Increasingly Hard to Find!! Hardcover with its original boards. No dust jacket. Published by Scribners: New York, 1919. MCMXIX. An Early American Edition. "November, 1912" is clearly stated on the copyright page but the Roman Numerals indicated that this copy was actually published in 1919. Please remember this is NOT the First Edition/First Printing of this title! Page 135 has broken type for "wearily". With a TRUE First/First, the word "wearily" will NOT be broken. Still, early printings with the broken type are quite scarce and Highly Desirable! Once again, please remember this is NOT a First Edition/First Printing! This is an attraction option for collector's who want an early printing, an almost identical clone of the first state, while avoiding the exorbitant cost of a first printing. This rare treasure has some very clearly visible wear/age, but is still in Highly Collectible condition! The book appears gently read and has no internal writing, no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris or a BCE. The binding is holding tight and the pages are still surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf/age wear along with... Creases/scuffing/marks/wear to the front board, rear board and spine. The wear is particularly noticeable near/along the edges and on the rear board. The most egregious wear was closely photographed for your consideration. Marks/wear to the edge/fore pages. The partial remnants of an old sticker attached to the rear pastedown/inside rear board which also caused some marks on the back of the final/blank page. Creases/marks/wear to the pages, NOT affecting the text. Varying in size and severity. All of the wear is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book. We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear. Once again, we want to reiterate that the wear is VERY clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. Numerous photographs from various angles were taken for your consideration/inspection. Please closely and carefully view ALL the pictures for further clarification!! Following the conclusion of the auction, payment must be received within three days or the book will be re-listed. Please feel free to contact us with any and all questions. We are very proud of our 100% positive feedback/ranking and offer an easy, no questions asked return policy so you can buy with confidence! Thank you!!
