Description: In 1936, Ford decided against any radical changes to its existing light-duty commercial models. The company was 1935's top U.S. car and truck seller, and it was not going to alter a winning formula. The biggest revision was under the hood. A smaller, 60-horsepower V-8 engine boasted improved fuel efficiency, a boon to owners of delivery vehicles. In 1936, over 200 Ford Deluxe Panel Vans were produced as an option to the more common standard model. For an extra $15, the Deluxe owner received a number of cosmetic enhancements: an aluminum-painted grille, windshield wipers, a lined interior and chrome-plated mirrors.
